Building Bridges With Experential Learning

Life Skills

Life Skills enable participants to develop psycho-social skills, so they can be more adaptable and accepting towards the changing times and improve their quality of life.

Kindness & Compassion:

One cannot leave a positive mark in the world without being compassionate. Due to the rise in mental health awareness, we believe it is imperative that candidates understand the cause and effect of their actions and in the process become conscientious beings with a mindful living.

Growth Mindset v/s Fixed Mindset:

As Carol Dweck proposes, growth mindset is a key 21st century skill that must be adapted if one desires to succeed in their future. Candidates will learn how developing the way in which they perceive and think will enable them to become better persons, performers and professionals.

Self-Control:

The difference between what one wants and what one needs is self control. This is in no way a promotion of abstinence, but monitoring and negating the effect of excessiveness. Be it in the form of material and tangible assets or in the form of intangible thoughts or ideas. Developing a zenous control over one’s temperament, behaviour and emotions will lead professionals and persons to lead more fulfilling lives.

Critical Thinking:

The life skill which is relevant in every field of life and gives the ability to elevate one’s brain muscles to observe, reflect, solve and embody alternate thinking routines which will establish the problem-solving outlook, while enabling participants to develop multiple perspectives.

Creativity:

As Erich Fromm mentioned “creativity requires courage”. In a world of conformity and standardised ways of thinking, it is essential to have a mind that nurtures and propagates creativity. Creativity makes an individual salient, confident and valued by their co-workers, peers and employers.

Interpersonal Skills:

One cannot be a collaborative worker without having interpersonal skills. It enables a person to work with others and communicate in a way that trains them to convey their opinions truthfully without being hurtful. To be able to celebrate one’s talent and their own is the skill to learn.

Decision Making:

People are where they are not mostly because of their person but because of the decisions they have made in their lives. It is a crucial life skill that everyone must learn in order to make better personal and professional choices for themselves and loved one, which will lead to having a fulfilling career and life.

Managing Failure with Resilience:

In a world which has programmed us for success, it is imperative to learn how to deal with failure. Failing once or for a period of time is not the defining event of one’s life span. Resilience trains one to bounce back from setbacks; one need not be an optimist to be resilient. It is an acquired soft skill.
